A big list of Fall Festivals in Hampton Roads for 2020! Take your families for fun and enjoy the cooler weather

Chubby’s Pumpkin Festival (Chesapeake)

Address: 1325 S Battlefield Blvd, Chesapeake, VA 23322

Dates: Open everyday starting September 21st

Activity: Chubby’s is the largest inflatable playground in Hampton Roads. It’s great for families with plenty to do including live music and DJ all weekend, every weekend, hayrides, outside food, and no cost for parents. Come have fun and buy your pumpkins!

Bergey's Breadbasket (Chesapeake)

Address: 2207 Mt Pleasant Road, Chesapeake VA

Dates: Open every day, Monday-Saturday beginning Friday, September 18, 2020. Closed on Sundays

Activities:  In-maze photo ops, wagon rides, petting zoo, and corn cob shooter. For younger children, there is a sorghum maze, straw maze, straw slide and pedal tractors. Pre-picked pumpkins are available for purchase beginning in late Sept/early October.

Cost for Corn Maze: Adults and children who can walk on their own: $8 per person M-F. Saturday $15 per person. Children who are not yet walking are free. Admission to the corn maze includes access to the petting zoo.

Mt Pleasant Christian School Fall Fest (Chesapeake)

Address: Mt Pleasant Christian School, Chesapeake VA

Date: September 19, 2020 from 9am-4pm

Activity: Craft Show, Food Tent, Game Tent, Petting Zoo and PonyRides, Tractor Show Off & more (No carnival rides this year)

Fall Festival/ Pick Your Own Pumpkins (Chesapeake)

Address: Greenbrier Farms Nursery 225 Sign Pine Road Chesapeake, Virginia 23322

Date: Opening for pumpkins September 19, 2020. Monday- Sunday* 9 am to 6 pm Cost: Pick-your-own pumpkins starting at $12, includes a FREE Hay Ride to the pumpkin patch.

Activities: Hay Rides, Kids Corn Maze (NEW), Barnyard Animals, Kids Games, Bounce Houses, SOL Field Trips and More! Our pumpkin patch is the best place for pick-your-own pumpkins in Chesapeake! This year we have over 15 different varieties of pumpkins. Make your plans now! Bounce Houses, Barnyard Animals and Games are available and FREE all week long:)

Hickory Ridge Farm Fall Festival (Chesapeake)

Activity: 
Hayrides, Barrel Train, Children's corn maze, Friendly Farm animals, Toddler Hay maze, all begin September 19 and will run everyday through October. Pony rides will run everyday from 11-4. The farm stand is open now with Orange and White Pumpkins and a HUGE variety of pumpkins, gourds, mini-pumpkins and mums arrive Friday. We will have a Sunflower field again this year in October. You-Pick Pumpkins begin in early October. Fall Field Trips are currently being scheduled. Grab bags and farm stand shopping are available everyday. Curbside service is still available and will continue in October.

Hermitage (Virtual) Handmade Festival (Norfolk)

Greenbrier Farms (Chesapeake)

Date: Opening for pumpkins September 21, 2020. Monday- Friday* 9 am to 5 pm Sat. and Sun. 9 am to 6 pm *Weekday pumpkin patch picking from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. does not have the games and festival activities.

Cost: Starting at $12, and going up based on size of the pumpkin

Activity: Hay Rides, Barnyard Animals, Kids Games, Bounce Houses, SOL Field Trips and More! Our pumpkin patch is the best place for pick-your-own pumpkins in Chesapeake! Pick-your-own pumpkins starts at $12 and includes a free hayride to the patch, free bounce houses and fun fall games for the kids. Don't forget to stop by the Barnyard Animals! Make your plans now!

*Weekday pumpkin patch picking from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bounce Houses, Barnyard Animals and Games are available and free all week long:) A face painter will be out at the Festival each weekend giving FREE Face painting. Tips are welcome!

Yorktown Folk Festival (Yorktown)

Address: Watermen's Museum, 309 Water Street, Yorktown, VA 23690

Dates: Saturday, September 26-27, 2020. Saturday 10am-9pm. Sunday 12-9pm.

Cost: Free Admission. $10 Evening concerts.

Activity: Join us for our annual Folk Festival featuring over 20 bands, dance groups, food,and many other folk culture activities. This event will take place on at least 4 stage areas throughout town and admission is free to the public. We're working out all the details to ensure everyone has fun, in a socially distanced way. But, rest assured, there will be tons of music, food, beverages, and many other event activities. So, mark you calendar with the dates and check back with us for updates.

Hunt Club Farm Harvest Fair (Virginia Beach)

Activity: The Harvest Fair features Virginia Beach’s largest Pumpkin Patch, farm tour hayrides, the Petting Farm, and pony rides.

Date: Open for Fall fun in the month of October 2020. Hours are Tuesday - Sunday, 10am-6pm. (Closed Mondays). Festival activities are weekend only (see below).
Also available: We will have plenty of fall decor for sale from flags and mats to hay bales, corn stalks, pumpkins & gourds of all sizes available for U-pick & already picked, mums, & lots more! Fall pictures & fun family photo ops on the farm available as well!

Bark in the Park (Chesapeake)

Date: Virtual in 2020! October 1-10 Humane Education Week, October 11-18 Bark in the Park Week, October 19-25 Virtual Vendor Week, October 26-31 Final Week.

Activity: Bark in the Park is Chesapeake Humane Society’s largest annual fundraiser and has become Chesapeake’s most talked about pet event. Bark in the Park is going virtual this year! Join us for a fun-filled month of virtual pet-related activities for the whole family. All proceeds support programs and services that assist homeless animals and low-income families and their pets.

32nd Annual Virginia Children's Festival (Norfolk)

Date: Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 10am-3pm 

Cost: $5 admission (Infants age 1 and under are free) There is no cancelation announcement but ticket purchases have been paused. Check link for updates.

Activity: Family festival filled with more than 100 fun, creative and interactive activities that include storytelling, hands-on workshops, educational displays, cultural experiences, arts and crafts, military demonstrations, costumed characters, and more! This event is designed with children 10 and younger in mind. 

Oktoberfest at the Farmhouse (Virginia Beach)

Activity: We're hosting our very own Oktoberfest! Join us on October 3d for a traditional German festival with German-inspired live music, food trucks, and specialty beer releases! Our 8.6 acres of land will allow for a socially distant celebration so save the date and get your lederhosen and dirndls out because we are ready to celebrate Oktoberfest!

Great Food Truck Festival (Newport News)

Address: Centura College - Newport News 616 Denbigh Blvd, Newport News, VA

Date: Saturday, October 10, 2020 from 11am-6pm

Cost: Admission is $5-$7

Activity: The Great Food Truck Festival will feature over 15 gourmet food trucks serving a variety of delicious dishes and tasty treats. General admission (12pm-6pm) is $5.00 per person ages 13 & up, children 12 and under admitted free. General Event Parking is Free and locates at First Baptist Church Morrison directly across the street from the festival. V.I.P. early admittance tickets (enter festival at 11am) are available for sale for $7.00 per person and includes a SWAG bag of goodies from area businesses and vendors. General Admission to the festival will feature music from our event DJ, games, kids zone complete with inflatables, free raffle prizes, balloon twisting, live performances and more!

Stockley Gardens Arts Festival (Virtual)

Activity: The Stockley Gardens VIRTUAL Fall Arts Festival sponsored by TowneBank. Join us on Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th to view and purchase works of art from talented artists in addition to virtual performances by many of your favorite Tidewater musicians. You’ll have the opportunity to visit artists websites and make purchases. Activity: Hallelujah Harvest is a Virginia Beach favorite fall event attracting thousands to our campus! Due to COVID-19 restrictions, it will look a little different this year but offer just as much fun for families.
